What are the 4Talent Awards for?

< 4Talent Awards 2008

Part of 4Talent’s purpose is to act as talent spotters - not for toothy wannabes in a saccharine-sweet variety show way, but for the people who’ll be providing Channel 4, E4, More4, Film4, 4Radio and channel4.com with original, challenging, ground-breaking, risk-taking, intelligent and entertaining content in the future.

But we’re also serving the wider industry: the independent companies that help British creative media lead the world, and without whom Channel 4 couldn’t exist.

Across 20 categories the 4Talent Awards tip exciting individuals with the potential to make a difference, as judged both by commissioners and the leading producers who supply them.

I have just turned 30 so this is my last chance to enter in to the 4 Talent Competition. I have just graduated from an HND in creative industries TV before i started college i wrote & directed one production.

In all i have written & directed 2 hard hitting dramas, & x 2 documentaries. Even though i have just graduated i am just about to go in to production with a sequel to the you tube link. Channel four’s new media/disarming Britain contacted me asking for IN 4 LIFE. I want to enter in to the multi talented category as i write scripts & direct. I also use very unconventional methods because i stay in a inner city estate instead of me trying to persuade actors to come out there comfort zone i use real people.
as a reference i want to use Shane Meadows. I do have a show-reel as it said in the guide lines 10 mins Max for T4 to see the best out of me would you advice me sending in a cut down show-reel or finding a web site were i would put all my productions on?

@garry Fraser: Hi Garry, I would advise you to enter the Directing category as Mark Herbert, MD of Warp Films (This is England) is one of the judges. I’d suggest you send in a showreel of your work - if you don’t have one then send the link to your YouTube channel.
